Laaghangend SEO fruit: Luisteren naar de webbouwer.
Sommige SEO maatregelen hebben een zichtbaar effect op het design van een website. Om esthetische redenen worden deze dan soms door bedrijven afgewezen. Weet dat als een webbouwer met volgende designelementen komt aanzetten, je functionaliteit beter even laat primeren op design.
Heb je een webbouwer die niet met deze maatregelen komt aanzetten, schuif dit lijstje dan toch even onder zijn neus:
- Title Tags
Laat CMS automatisch Title tags aanmaken die als volgt zijn opgebouwd: $TITEL_ARTIKEL – $SUBCATEGORIE – $CATEGORIE – $SITENAAM
- Meta description
Geef de gebruiker de kans om een meta description per pagina/artikel in te geven. Indien deze niet wordt ingegeven door de gebruiker, genereer dan automatisch een meta description aan de hand van de introtekst van het artikel zelf.
- Breadcrumbs
Plaats bovenaan de site een structureel overzicht van waar de bezoekers zich bevindt.
$SITENAAM > $CATEGORIE > $SUBCATEGORIE > $TITEL_ARTIKEL
Behalve de $TITEL_ARTIKEL zijn alle variabelen een link naar de desbetreffende pagina.
- URL Opbouw (URL rewrite)
URLs moeten er als volgt uitzien:
www.sitenaam.be/CATEGORIE/SUBCATEGORIE/TITEL-ARTIKEL
- Uitgebreide footer – site structuur
Plaats onderaan de site een duidelijk overzicht van de structuur van de site, waarbij elk structuur item een link is naar de desbetreffende pagina.
Voorbeeld op www.assistantplus.be
- Verplichte tekst bij afbeeldingen.
Probeer indien er een foto wordt weergegeven (bvb bij een productoverzicht) er ook altijd een selecteerbare tekst bij te plaatsen. Dit kan door een transparante overlay te plaatsen op een deel van de afbeelding en daar een beschrijvende tekst bij te plaatsen.
- Gebruik title-attribuut voor je links.
Geef de gebruiker bij het invoegen van links de kans om ook een title-attribuut in een a-tag toe te voegen. Vult hij deze niet in, gebruik dan automatisch de tekst die als link wordt gebruikt ook als title-attribuut.
- Gebruik alt-attribuut voor afbeeldingen.
Geef de gebruiker bij het invoegen van afbeeldingen de kans om ook een alt-attribuut te specifiëren. Vult hij deze niet in, gebruik dan automatisch de beschrijvende tekst van de afbeeldingen ook als alt-attribuut.
Allen eenvoudige basisregels die je site zeker beter laten scoren in zoekmachines, en ook bezoekers makkelijker op je site laat navigeren.
